Steps to Hope Holds 2nd Annual Gala & Announces New Logo
Last Saturday, Steps to Hope hosted its highly anticipated 2nd Annual Charity Gala, drawing over 170 community members in attendance. The gala not only celebrated the organization's achievements but also marked the unveiling of expansion plans and a fresh logo design, signaling a new chapter in their mission to support survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.
Dubbed "The L.O.V.E. Boat," an acronym for "Let's. Overcome. Violence. Everywhere.," the gala set sail as the maiden voyage of what will be an ongoing February event. Amidst an atmosphere of compassion and determination, Diane Nelson, the Executive Director of Steps to Hope, took the stage to announce the organization's plans. "The annual gala was a perfect opportunity to announce the spaces we are designing into our new facility and publicly thank our gracious donors for their support," said Diane Nelson. "The goal going forward is for the survivors of domestic violence or sexual assault residing in our shelter to no longer leave our campus to receive the services they need." The expansion plans include dedicated spaces for community partners to hold meetings, ensuring that survivors have seamless access to essential services such as legal aid, medical assistance, and social support without having to leave the safety of the shelter. Agencies like Pisgah Legal Services will collaborate with Steps to Hope, bringing their services directly to the survivors, thereby reducing stress and trauma.
The organization also took this opportunity to unveil a new logo design, symbolizing the brave journey of individuals breaking free from unhealthy relationships and finding refuge in Steps to Hope's care. Diane Nelson emphasized, "We can take this gigantic step because of the foundation our community leaders laid nearly 40 years ago." The new logo, adorned with the tagline "Advocacy | Education | Safety," embodies the comprehensive support and empowerment provided by Steps to Hope, spanning from advocacy and education to ensuring the safety and well-being of survivors and young adults.
As Steps to Hope charts a course towards expanded facilities and enhanced services, the organization remains steadfast in its commitment to providing a beacon of hope for survivors in the community.
